When creating an arrangement, I consider composition, lighting, color, movement, and visual balance—the same elements I think about when framing a scene for a film.
Every orchid has its own character. Its natural curves, posture, and placement contribute to the overall story of the arrangement.
Rather than simply decorating a container, I approach each design as a carefully composed visual experience.
This creative philosophy also inspired my involvement in developing Orchid Boutique's website, photography, videos, and digital storytelling.
Today, the boutique serves not only as a floral studio but also as a creative environment where botanical artistry and filmmaking can exist together.
The Challenges Behind the Beauty
As I shared with VoyageLA, pursuing creativity is not always a smooth journey.
Running a floral business requires balancing artistic expression with practical responsibilities, including customer expectations, pricing, physical labor, and the constant process of learning.
There are challenges behind every beautiful arrangement that customers may never see.
Yet these experiences have taught me the importance of adaptability, perseverance, and valuing the time and craftsmanship involved in creating something meaningful.
They have also encouraged me to expand Orchid Boutique's educational content through videos, blogs, and workshops that help people better understand and appreciate orchids.
Continuing to Grow and Evolve
One of the central themes of my VoyageLA interview is the importance of personal evolution.
As an artist, I don't believe creativity has to be confined to a single discipline. Filmmaking, acting, photography, and orchid design may appear unrelated, but each allows me to explore emotion, beauty, and storytelling from a different perspective.
Plants themselves are wonderful reminders that growth happens in stages.
They adapt to their surroundings, experience periods of rest, and eventually bloom when the conditions are right.
I believe our lives follow a similar rhythm.
The experiences that challenge us can also become opportunities to discover something new about ourselves.
